ellen Delegates, "Congratulations to us all!" We made calls, canvassed, voted and together we helped win Vermont for Barack Obama! Our efforts have made us each worthy of representing Vermont in Denver. I would like to be one of Vermont's national delegates. I hope to reflect to the rest of our nation how beautifully diverse this state is. For those who have never been here, Vermont life is only experienced through Ben and Jerry's ice cream, images of skiing and Norman Rockwell paintings. I love all of these things but I want the world to know, we are so much more. We, citizens of Vermont, are as varied as the subtle shades of green painting our lush mountainsides.

In my family, I am the bridge for three generations that have campaigned for Obama. Here, in Vermont, my young daughters knocked on doors, handed out flyers and honked and waved with my 3 year old Sirena cheering "Obama! Obama!" My shy 9 year old, Mason, marched in a parade holding her Obama sign with pride for the world to see. My girls are too young to be delegates and go to Denver but their Mama can!

In North Carolina, my mother campaigned. I was surprised. She's not an American citizen and has never been involved with politics. She loves this country... she even gave birth to me on the 4th of July! When my mother heard what Barack Obama had to say, she began knocking on doors, making calls and changing minds. When Michelle Obama made a speech my mother waited in line to meet her. Mom fell and hurt her foot. After hearing Michelle speak and getting a photo with her, my Mama for Obama finally drove herself to the emergency room with a fractured foot. My mother says, "She's going to get her citizenship so she can vote President Obama into his second term." Right now she can't be a delegate and go to Denver but with your help her daughter can!
